Date of Publication: February 28,2018 Category: Police and Law Enforcement Most Muslim women wear a headscarf called a hijab. There are a variety of reasons for Muslim women to wear it. To some people it shows their devotion to god. Another reason is for women to declare their Islamic identity. While according to the Qur'an it tells women to dress modestly. Saying that a man should know a woman for her her mind and not her body. The New York Police Department did give some of these women the respect to a private room and a officer of the same gender. There was one case where a women veil had been removed at the scene of the arrest. Which was probably in front of many people. While another one was forced to remove hers and denied a female photographer. Some of the girls claimed that they felt exposed, violated and distraught by having a male photographer take her picture without her hijab for a matter of twenty minutes. She was also exposed to many male officers and prisoners were able to look at her. So many of these girls had went to court about this. But there were three girls in particular that were each paid $60,000 each. Later on the police department had issued additional policies regarding religious head wear in December 2017. Date of Publication: January , 2018 Category: Entertainment In this report CNN reporter Randi Kaye took "several" hits of marijuana. People has mixed feeling about the report some people were appalled by this. While others honesty could care less about the whole marijuana thing. they were more concerned on why this is the person who replaced Kathy Griffin. So what happened was that CNN new reporter Randi Kaye was doing a New Year's Eve marijuana-themed report. and while doing this report it seemed as if she had taken some "hits". And while at the party the reporter stated "I'm trying to remember where we are. Where am I?" I feel like it was very unprofessional report she made. I honestly confused on why this is the type of place she wanted to report her story. of all things she could of reported this is what she did. Even though marijuana is legal in that state it doesn't mean that it is ok to just broadcast something like this on live television. People's children could be watching this, and this is not leaving a good impression on the children. Author: Cailey Rizzo
Date of Publication: November 28, 2017 Category: Travel Safety Have you ever wondered why during takeoff or landing they ask you to put your seats up, put away your table tray, and to open the windows? Do you every just think to yourself why do I always comply to these instructions. I personally thought it was just a waste of time and for no reason at all. But to find out it's for the safety of me and fellow passengers in the case of an emergency. I read that 45 percent of fatal accidents happening with a airplane tend to happen during the landing or takeoff of a plane. They tell you to open up the windows cause during takeoff or landing because during those times they dim the lights in the cabin cause it to be dark there. But during those things they tell you to open the windows so just in cast of an evacuation you can see where you are going. making you to move faster and not risk you or anyone else's life. It makes it easier for people to evacuate somewhere when they can see where they need to go. they tell you to put up your reclined seats so just in case of an accident or emergency the person behind you will have space to move and get out of the plane as quick as possible. It basically just give them more room to navigate. It is like basically the same thing for the tray tables too. They want you to put up your tray tables so in the case of the emergency you can easily get out. In the case of an emergency having your seats reclined and/or your table trays down could slow down an emergency evacuation causing fatal injuries or even probably death. So if it was me I would rather comply than risk my life over one small thing. Author: Mary Figuers Stallings
Date of Publication: October 31, 2017 Category: Entertainment http://www.foxnews.com/world/2017/10/18/woman-claims-american-horror-story-inspired-her-to-murder-grandfather.html This news article is basically telling about how these two girl committed murder. so what happened was a girl names Brittney Dwyer killer her 81 year old grandfather over his lifesavings of $110,000. so what happened was his grandchild and her friend drove up to his house. And she went into the house and while spending time with her granddad. She started regretting going up there and wanting to do it. But her friend Bernadette Burns encouraged her to go through with it and she did. And after all was done. Instead of leaving she washed the dishes while her grandfather was bleeding to death. And instead of getting the money they came for they only ended up with $1,000 and a few other things. The granddaughter claimed was that the murder was inspired by the show 'American Horror Story'. And the Burns family wants to claimed that Bernadette didn't really know what she was doing cause she had a methamphetamine addition. The author used regular everyday diction. The diction used didn't make it seem like the author had any emotional attachment. I noticed that the author appeals to pathos. The author appeals to pathos when the author inserted a quote from the granddaughters brother. When the brother stated that she should receive the maximum penalty for her consequences. And that the shame and grief they have casted upon both their families is unforgiveable. the tone that is set in this article is a sad tone. You can tell by the words she uses like grieving, unforgiveable, shame, sorrow, etc. The overall goal of writing this article to tell about this horrifying story of how wicked people in this world can really be over greed. The article is organized by first stating the basis information. Then it goes on to tell about how the crime happened and took place. Then it finally tells what happening now or what is happen in future. Author: Sadie Gurman and David Crary
Date of Publication: October 05, 2017 Category: Politics www.foxbusiness.com/politics/2017/10/05/trump-justice-dept-ends-transgender-workplace-protections.html The diction used in this article is formal diction. They use formal diction because since many people read news, so by using formal dictions it helps to show that they know what they are talking about. But tone the .The purpose of this article is to talk about what's happening so far with the banning of transgender in workplace. And how it's actually extending to schools too they are advising to no longer let students use the bathroom of their choice. I feel like the topic is absolutely stupid. Like does it really matter what transgender want to do with their life. But anyway, the way the authors write the article makes it seem like they have no emotional attachment to this issue. It was as if they just didn't care it was like they were just writing it cause they were told to. Pathos was used in the article because this used an emotional because this is discrimination towards the LGBTQ community. While this is just mainly about transgender doesn't mean that everyone else won't be affected by it. the author organizes the article by introducing the main topic, then they talk about the what's happening about the topic, and what the government is going to do about it. I personally do not support this topic. I don't support this topic because I personally have no problem with anyone in the LGBTQ community. Because I feel that if they have not cause harm or damage to me then why cause it upon someone who hasn't done anything. One adjective I would use to describe this article is cruel. I choose that word because how they are treating people who are different is unbelievable. All because someone is different doesn't mean they are something you should fear or even criticize. |
